Best Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe: MethodIn a medium size bowl, place the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Combine thoroughly with a whisk. Set aside. With a stand mixer - or a hand held mixer - cream the butter, shortening and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time and blend well after each addition. Cream until your mixture is light in color and texture. ![]() Add the flour and vanilla and combine well. Place the dough in fridge for about one hour. Use the remaining sugar - 3/4 cup - and the cinnamon and combine well. ![]() Take out of the fridge and roll the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls.
