I am from France and I have many yummy dessert recipes which I need to convert from grams to ounces. My mom before she passed away sent me a nifty tool to help. It was a plastic tumbler which was labeled flour, sugar, liquid, and a few other things. Then there was some marks which said 50g 100g, etc.

It worked well. All I needed to do was turn the tumbler to flour for example and then fill it to the mark of my choice. Let's say 250g. This tumbler worked very well for me until I asked the kids where it was...and they said: "in the dirt outside" with all the markers rubbed off! Arrrrg!

But why get mad? Would not change a thing. Although I must admit I was quite frustrated. Now I was going to have to try to explain to my father that I NEEDED him to buy me a new one! That was NOT going to be easy. I am sure he has never even seen one of those tumblers.

My other solution was to go back to the old method and weight everything...a pain in the neck!
