Homemade Buckwheat Pancake Mix





This homemade buckwheat pancake mix is so easy to make and it is also a great way to add some flavor and fiber to your pancakes.

The seed can only be used after the hull has been removed. You may want to know that the hull does not go to waste as it can be recycled into buckwheat pillows.

Homemade Buckwheat Pancake Mix





Homemade Buckwheat Pancake Mix

  • 2 cups of unbleached all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsps. baking soda

  • 1/3 cup of sugar

  • 1 tsp. of fine sea salt









Directions:

Mix all the ingredients together into a bowl until they are well blended. Store in an airtight container.

If you intend to give the buckwheat mix as a gift, put it into a pretty jar with the directions attached and may I even suggest an applesauce cinnamon ornament as decoration?






Buckwheat Pancakes

To 1 cup of the buckwheat pancake mix, add:

  • 1 cup of buttermilk

  • 2 TBs. of oil

  • 2 TBs of milk

  • 1 large egg

Mix all the ingredients together until you have a smooth batter. Cook the pancakes on a hot griddle (or pan) until bubbles start forming on the top and/or the edge of the pancake is dry. Flip over and cook through. Serve hot with butter and syrup.
