Directions For This Cinnamon Christmas Ornament RecipeMix the applesauce with the cinnamon a little at a time until you have a soft dough. Work the dough on a cinnamon sprinkled surface until it is pliable and easy to work with. Roll it out on a cinnamon covered surface. I like my ornaments 1/4 inch so that they are stronger. You can make them thinner but they will be more fragile. Cut shapes or use cookie cutters. Make a hole for hanging with a straw or - for a smaller whole - a tiny screwdriver. Actually, straws from kid juice boxes work very well and seem to be the perfect size. Drying Your Cinnamon Applesauce OrnamentsYou can let them air dry. It will take a few days - 2 to 3 - and you will need to turn them over every few hours. You may also place them on a cookie rack; they'll dry faster with better airflow. You can place them on a wax or parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Place them in a warm oven - 200 to 250F for a few hours. Remember to still turn them over several times.
