Amish Friendship Bread Starter Recipe

If you need an Amish friendship bread starter recipe, you are at the right place.

Years ago, I was given a Ziploc plastic bag with some white "mush" inside and a sheet of instructions. The label on the bag said Amish friendship bread and had a date on it as well.

I liked the concept and the bread but after the first round, I had already run out of friends to give the starter to and I was drowning in starter. This was ridiculous!

At this rate, I'd have enough starter to take a bath in....I could not keep up so I gave up.

The instructions were clear...mess up your starter and you are done for...meaning unless I was gifted with Amish friendship bread starter once more, I could never make this bread again!

My last batch had gone down the drain...so this was it.

Years later, I learned to make sourdough bread and I told myself that there must certainly be an easier way to make an Amish friendship bread starter and indeed there is!

Now, I am going to share with you this Amish friendship bread starter recipe so that you don't have to wait for a kind soul to hand you some...you can make your own!

Your comments, tips, reviews and recipes are welcome so do not hesitate to share!
